Beechwood Walk

Beechwood Walk

Sunshine beckons, woodland birds call,
’neath bare branches of tightly furled buds
leaves long fallen and windswept to dust.

Wild garlic scent drifts through the trees,
green shoots thrust up from warming damp earth
gathering strength for bluebells to come.

Time to shake off winter’s long wet,
wake up and greet the promise of spring
fresh life appears, new growth to inspire.
